Waskesiu Foundation - Enhancing the Waskesiu Experience

The Waskesiu Foundation needs volunteers to help us continue making Waskesiu even better. We would love to have you join us!

Please use our Volunteer Contact Form here to express your interest in volunteering. We will contact you when opportunities arise to confirm your interest and availability.

Still need some encouragement? Here is a list of reasons that might just help you make up your mind!

Volunteering maximizes resources.
Volunteering provides valuable services, so more of the Waskesiu Foundation's money can be spent on local improvements.

It brings our community together.
As a Foundation volunteer, you help unite people to work towards a common goal, building teamwork and camaraderie. And, by the way – it's fun!

Volunteering strengthens our community.
As a Waskesiu Foundation volunteer you help:

  • Improve the environment;
  • Support recreation & culture;
  • Beautify our community.

You get a chance to give back.
Waskesiu Foundation volunteers improve

community facilities that benefit you, your family,

and other people you care about.

Volunteering 'pays it forward'.
Community service and volunteerism are an

investment in a better community.

You can make a difference.
Yes you can – and every volunteer counts.

What does a Waskesiu Foundation volunteer do?
A successful volunteer effort came with the

construction of the Bears on the Beach playground.

Over three days, a total of 60 volunteers changed

a section of Waskesiu's main beach from plain

sand to a wonderful nature-themed play area.

Volunteers of all ages, skill levels and fitness levels helped. Another example is the self-organized group of volunteers who sponsored the cost and built the new camp kitchen at South Bay.

Examples of other volunteer activities include:

  • Sipping Social and Family Treasure Hunt (decorating, working with graphics and print companies, cleaning up, approaching businesses for silent auction items, etc.);
  • Fundraising for projects;
  • Project planning committees;
  • Mail drops in Waskesiu;
  • Telephoning;
  • Being a Director.

Please join us as we continue to enhance the Waskesiu experience – now, and for future generations.
