Gifts to the Waskesiu Foundation can be Cash or In-kind donations in the name of the donor or in tribute to someone else.
Save TAXES! Gifting securities (publicly traded stocks, bonds and mutual funds) has become a very popular, tax effective and convenient form of charitable giving. Selling securities that have increased in value since purchase will create a taxable capital gain for the donor, even if the proceeds are donated to a charity. Gifting the securities to a charity can be done with no taxable capital gain.
In order to realize the tax benefit, a donor must not sell the securities, rather the donor’s financial advisor transfers securities directly to the Waskesiu Foundation. The donor receives a charitable tax receipt for the fair market value of the securities which will create a tax credit against other income taxes payable.
